Governing Body

The mayor and city council form the City of Gardner Governing Body. This group is responsible for establishing and enforcing all municipal laws, ensuring city services meet the desires and needs of the community, and formulating policies that guide the operation of the organization. To help meet these objectives, the governing body established four long-term strategic goals to guide their vision and funding decisions for Gardner, Kansas. The following goals set the priorities for the organization and help bring plans and projects to fruition:

Mike played an instrumental role for the city, helping to provide safe and clean drinking water to the Gardner community.

Jerry effectively operated equipment to purify and clarify water to ensure compliance with all federal, state and local laws and regulations.

Lynn Atchison

Police Department

(Retired Dec. 31, 2020)

Lynn dedicated his career to serving the community and keeping Gardner safe. He worked in several public safety capacities before retiring as Patrol Sergeant, including Public Safety Officer, Patrol Officer, School Resource Officer and Range Master.

Greg was responsible for managing IT staff and coordinating all the organization’s computer systems, ensuring all hardware, software, networks, and related applications work correctly and efficiently.
